When I Grow Up: I Want to Be a Pilot

Gives students an up-close and comprehensive view of what schooling, skills, and effort it takes to pursue a career as a pilot. Through narration, interviews, and dramatization, children will learn that the responsibilities of most pilots goes beyond making it possible for us to get to fat away places quickly and safely, it also includes serving in the armed forces and keeping our country safe. This program begins with a pilot talking about his interest in flying as a young boy and what steps he took to reach his goal including: getting extra help with math in school, learning about teamwork skills through different clubs and sports in high school, completing four years of college and graduating with an engineering degree, and, finally, joining the United States Air Force, where he officially becomes a pilot.
